||Coming to your villages this Christmas!
We are hoping to introduce a living Advent calendar (like your Advent calendar at home but much bigger!) throughout the villages in Walberton Parish this year - with homes, businesses, schools, preschools/nurseries, and churches all invited to participate.
- There will be 24 addresses, each ‘opening’ a window of the Advent calendar between 1st December until 24th December 2020.
- Each address will be allocated a date and, from 6pm on that night, and every evening following (until the 1st January 2021), the window will be illuminated with a Christmas-themed design.
- The design can be any Christmas or winter scene, secular or religious. It does not need to be ‘arty’ or complex – the aim is just for each window to be a surprise until it is revealed on your night.
- There are lots of ideas online – search for ‘Advent window ideas’.
From the 1st December, a map will be available here indicating where the windows will be (house name/number and road – no personal details of participants) allowing you to walk through the villages to view the windows on our festive trail.
Each window design will be posted on the Walbinfont Facebook page once it has been ‘opened’ to allow them to be viewed by those who are not able to get out and about in the villages.
If you live or work in Walberton, Binsted or Fontwell and would like to be involved with creating an Advent window, please contact Emily (email@example.com) by Sunday 11th October 2020.
Please include your name and address and any preference you have about dates.
Please be aware that in agreeing to participate you are also agreeing to have your address identified on the website and map so people can look for your window, and for photos to be taken which may be used on the website and social media. Photos will be of the window area only and will not show your complete house.
No names or email addresses will be shared without your permission.
The window must be able to be clearly seen from the street or a public area without people coming onto private land.
If you live outside the Parish, please join in the fun and come and visit our festive trail.
